Hull curves revealed in latest Honfleur construction shots

It’s a little over one month until Honfleur’s vast hull is launched into the Baltic from the slipway at the FSG shipyard. And we have received latest images of the build from Brittany Ferries' man in Germany, Brice Robinson. These show the beautiful curves of her hull aft body, designed to make her as efficient as possible at sea.

Of course, hull construction is just part of a multi-layer jigsaw puzzle. Huge building blocks of around 2000 tonnes (each) are currently under construction in Gdansk, Poland. When complete these will be shipped to FSG, then craned into position atop the newly launched hull, in a process that is known as the “lego build”.

We will bring you more details of what’s been happening in Gdansk - and photographs - next week.
